Fantastic Location, Decent Stay with Room for Improvement
8.0We stayed at the Renaissance Paris and overall had a good experience. The location is truly phenomenal — close to major sights, great restaurants, and easy transportation. It’s the kind of spot that makes exploring Paris effortless, and for that alone, the hotel has a lot of value. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the warm service throughout our stay. The hotel itself, however, is very old and a bit run down in areas. You can feel the history of the building (which is charming in some ways), but there are definitely spots that could use refreshing. From what we’ve heard, the property is currently under renovation, which is promising and hopefully means a much-improved guest experience in the near future. That said, the comfort, the service, and especially the unbeatable location made it a solid stay — and once the renovations are complete, this hotel has the potential to be truly exceptional. Overall: a very good base for exploring Paris, with upgrades on the horizon.
NOT a 5 star hotel and dont be deceived by photos on website!
2.0How this hotel is even a "5 star" hotel is simply deceptive and a joke. I stayed here for a work conference and even though the location is great (right next to the tuileries garden and the place vendome), there is nothing left to be desired. It seemed that the owners just cannot be bothered to maintain this hotel and it really showed. 1. main revolving doors not working and never once been fixed during our stay 2. shower stalls are perpetually clogged, needed to be unclogged and pumped daily 3. tap in handwash basin misaligned so water keeps spraying everywhere everytime you wash your hands 4. WC is also clogged, we complained and the plumbers came to fix 5. panel above WC falls off everytime you flush, never mind i just pushed it back in. 6. the lifts didnt work 2 out of 3 days. On the morning of departure i had to carry my suitcases down the emergency stairwell!! 7. the doors and walls are thin and you can hear every noise and footstep outside. TOTALLY APPALLING. AND FOR 500 EUROS A NIGHT A COMPLETE RIPOFF.
Great location, staff and food - I loved it all!
10.0What a great hotel! Location is excellent. Quick walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame, Ste. Chappelle and Arche de Triumphe. And the staff is excellent. If you meet Eric the concierege, say hi to him for me. He gave us great tips like going early to the train station Le Gare De Leon for our nonstop train to Avignon. He said we could enjoy a beverage or snack in Le Train Bleu, a restaurant featured in Murder on the Orient Express movie. What a great tip! The restaurant is quite a surprise in the middle of the train station! You have to see the ceilings to believe it! Eric got a big kick out of our car for a Paris tour, a tiny Citroen. He went out to talk to our driver and was really smiling! As Marriott Platinum Elite guests, we enjoyed 2 free $35 breakfast buffets every morning which was good news/bad news - delicious and I hope the calories didn't count! And the bartender was a delight to watch - a true professional. All in all, an excellent stay!
I felt so good staying in this hotel. Friendly staff and nice breakfast.
8.0The entrance is slighltly narrow to us who carrying the big luggage. However, the staff is so kind on assisting us, carrying the luggages from the entance to our room. I really appreciated on this service.
− My room was just right above a bar, I guessed so. The music is too loud even though the windows are closed. Not too much affecting me too.I am still have a nice sleep then.

10.0Amazing staff!
Renaissance Hotel Vendôme Paris, what a disappointment
2.0At the end of a trip to Italy, my wife and I stayed at the Renaissance hotel for two nights. The room was supposed to be a deluxe king room. The price was just over $1000 per night. The first room they asked us to stay in Was probably about 150 ft.² overlooking the mechanical units of the hotel. We refused to stay there. We were brought to a different room which we also did not care for however they said it was the only other room available. We reluctantly accepted. This room at best was similar to any motel hotel room you would find off a freeway in the United States. Probably would’ve paid $150 per night in the US. I understand that rooms in Paris are way more expensive than that but to pay over $1000 for this pathetic room was ridiculous. The weather was warm and the air-conditioning didn’t work. I asked several times to have the air-conditioning evaluated. Front desk said that it was however air-conditioning never functioned during our stay. The amenities at the hotel were worthy of only a three star rating rather than the five star rating. My wife and I have stayed in Paris many times and this was by far and away the worst experience we ever had from a hotel standpoint. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member and I’ve always enjoyed staying at their hotels. For the money that we paid for this Marriott property, over $1000 per night, disappointment was the ruling feeling.
