Terrible experience
2.0Terrible experience. When I arrived at the hotel, I learned that although my booking clearly included breakfast, the hotel denied it and told me to resolve the issue with the travel agent. I don’t understand why the hotel allows agents to misrepresent their rooms, and I did not expect such misleading practices from Hilton. The hotel cannot deny responsibility, as the travel agent was authorized by them. The overall condition of the hotel is poor. The rooms are old, have an unpleasant smell, and there was even a large hole in the bathroom, as shown in the picture. Additionally, the so-called Skyline Room didn’t have any view at all, so don’t be deceived by their advertisements.
Excellent Business Trip Experience!
10.0My recent business trip to New York was made comfortable and professional by the excellent team at the New York Hilton Midtown. From check-in to check-out, everything was smooth and efficient. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. The location was perfect - right in the heart of Midtown Manhattan with easy access to all attractions and transportation. Highly recommend this hotel for any business traveler!
Absolutely fabulous
10.0I stayed at this hotel to celebrate my 40th birthday. I travelled with my mum for her 65th birthday along with my 17 year old son and his 16 year old friend. I can’t thank this hotel enough for the brilliant service we received. Yes they are very “business” oriented, but hey they are a business at the end of the day. I had my room upgraded free of charge, it was cleaned every day with fresh linen and towels, questions answered in a very helpful manner, taxis called whenever I needed, and the location... central for absolutely everything, a stones throw away from Central Park, 5th ave, time square, Rockefeller, Empire State, the underground is just around the corner, Costa just over the road... what more could anyone ask for. Yes the restaurants/cafes are a little overpriced but you are not forced to eat there, I purchased hot/cold food & drinks from just outside and took it to my room. I would like to thank the whole team for making my stay a pleasure and look forward to returning as soon as I can afford to.
Perfect Location and Great Staff
10.0Perfect spot to explore NYC. Close to Central Park, as well as all the midtown touristy things to do. If you’re into walking, the rest of the Manhattan attractions are reachable. But can also use taxi/ride share or subway. Sooo many places to eat around it as well. Staff is very friendly and housekeepers went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s a clean hotel. They are still working out the kinks of the new technology with the elevators, but they get you where you need to be.
An exceptional Hilton experience
10.0After 3 cancelled flights and a long journey to get to New York coming to the Hilton was a refreshing and comforting arrival. it was a delight to deal with the friendly front desk staff of the New York Hilton mid-town. Mark ( rooms controller) and Irene ( front desk agent) went out of their way to accommodate my requests and made me feel welcome and at home!
Great experience which could have almost been perfect. we will be back.
8.0We visited as a family of 5 in early July for 10 days. we booked via BA and as such did not have to pay resort fees. we booked on the 33rd floor which turned out to be brilliant for us. the rooms are big for manhattan standards, beds comfortable and i would say the level of cleanliness was very good. our rooms were 3315 and 3316, city view. 2 double beds in each room. we were provided a fridge and products in the bathroom were high quality. no kettle but we brought our own travel kettle which did the job. we were concerned about the elevator situation but we needn't have worried. the longest we waited for a lift was 3 minutes. when the line got long the staff were directing and helping people use the service elevators. what i would say is when you book, try and book the top floor of the relevant elevator bank. each bank services the following - 2-23, 24-34, and 34 to 46. depending on the floor you are going to depends on the bank of lifts you are asked to use. by staying on the 33rd floor we used elevator bank c and going up was sometimes crowded but we were always greeted with an empty lift going down. on lower floors however the lift was getting full so i would imagine more frustration felt by those on these floors as a lift that came for them was too full to use. another perk of being on the top floors of the elevator banks is that if your lift bank is busy, you can go one floor higher and just walk down one flight of stairs which we did a couple of times - mainly when folk had bags and buggies and couldnt use the stairs. Also one member of staff helpfully told us that if we press the button for as many people wishing to travel - the lift allocated a space so should never turn up full. might be a good tip for others. the lobby is fine, it is busy but never affected us. we used the lobby bar twice to watch football and it was fairly expensive. herb and kitchen are very expensive but the food carts on the corner were more affordable for bottled water and snacks so we just used them. bridges bar only open after 5 and on certain days - total wasted opportunity when the matches were on. Rays pizza was yum and dunkin is close by on 7th. nearest subwas on both 5th and 7th avenue so only a block either way or a 10 min walk to 42nd street and times square which gets you almost EVERYWHERE in the city. great location -great views - great shower - great experience and great holiday. thank you hilton. if only your breakfasts were more affordable we could have reviewed those too but 40 dollars plus for a breakfast per person was too much to ask when carnegie is just a few blocks away and charges less than 10 dollars for a pastrami and swiss and a bottle of water. will we be back? YES. thanks for having us!
