Premier stay in premier floor
10.0I recommend upgrading to a premier room on the premier floors for a better quality room, minibar perks, and access to the club lounge, which was really excellent. High quality food and drinks, with a fantastic view. They also offered a small breakfast there which I actually preferred over the buffet. It was also possible to have in-room breakfast (no additional cost) so we chose the Japanese set, very substantial. Apart from a slow check in, in part because of Japan hotel's insistence to use endless paper coupons that need to ge stamped and counted, you really can't beat the location in Shimbashi, access to amenities, short walk to Hibiya and Ginza, hundreds of restaurants minutes away. Recommend.
Our 2nd visit to Dai Ichi Hotel Tokyo Within Last 6 Months!
10.0My family stayed at Dai Ichi Hotel Tokyo at Superior Twin Room for two nights (24/1 & 25/1) for the second time in the last six months (whereby the first time was in 10/8 -13/8 for three nights). Overall, we re-booked the hotel as we have a wonderful stay and memories from the last visit. The positives of this hotel have always been: 1) convenient location at Shimbashi to nearby restaurants and easy walking distance to Ginza shopping district, 2) good value for a 5 stars hotel (versus other 5 stars hotel for that period we visited), 3) quality buffet breakfast, 4) spacious bathroom, 5) helpful conceirge team and luggage handling staff, 6) hotel with various restaurants to choose (eg teppanyaki, sushi, lobby lounge, French, bar), 6) comfortable bed room with well equipped amenities/functions, 7) accessible to Shimbashi train station, 8) complimentary newspaper (English or Japanese) each morning, 9) Airport Bus access (to Narita / Haneda) in front of Hotel and 10) indoor heated swimming pool/gym. We noted improvement from last stay in particular, Front Desk Service such as checkin was faster this time (p.s last time in Aug 2025 the only negative aspect of our stay was they took 30 mins versus this time in Jan 2026 less than 5 mins), Front Desk also allowed some extra time (till 1pm) for late check out in view we have a young child (5 years old). What was really amazing this stay was we lost the child heated-water bottle on JR line and when we reported to conceirge team, they kindly help us located with JR line loss property team the same day! We also tried sushi restaurant this time and the restaurant was accommodating to grill a cod fish for our young child to enjoy (as she cannot eat raw fish). The staff (Front Desk, Conceirge, Luggage) also remembered us and greeted us kindly with sincere smile and courteous help during our stay. The only negative during our stay was toilet was not properly cleaned by hotel standard. Have informed housekeeping supervisor on this matter who kindly apologized. I agree with other reviewers that this hotel has potential to focus and improve on areas in 2026 such as 1) its outdated carpets in floor / room can be replaced with new carpets and 2) the room curtain can be enhanced to ensure total darkness when wake up in morning. Other observations - the Chinese Restaurant was closed permanently. I sincerely hope a new Chinese Restaurant can be opened to compliment it existing restaurants. For my two visits in Aug 2025 and Jan 2026, I noted the staff serving at Breakfast not greet guests with good morning / smile. Overall, will continue to come back to this wonderful hotel in near future if both time and good room pricing permits!
A classy hotel but very dated.
6.0Dai-ichi Hotel used to be one of the top hotels in Tokyo about 40 years ago. It’s still a classy hotel with good service and the location is excellent. However, everything is so old and dated, in need of a major renovation. The bathtub drained so slowly and it backed up and flooded the whole bathroom! The elevators are so small and slow- a long wait every time. All the bad things that come with an ancient hotel were there. If the rate is much lower, I would consider staying there again since I love the location, but for over 50,000yen a night, not a chance.
Hood location at shimbashi station area
8.0Great location at shimbashi station area. You should ask for a quiet room because it is very close to the ststion Service was great, breakfast could be improved. Price a bit high for a hotel that advertise a pool and gym space while they are across the street and sur charge.

10.0Stayed here a year ago. Loved it so much that we came back for 5 night stay. Walking distance to Ginza and train station. Surrounded by all kind of eateries and bars and restaurants. 5 minutes walk to Donki is a plus. Enjoyed the gym next door with indoor pool and sauna. Will definitely stay here again.
Up to 2 children 6 years old and younger stay free when occupying the parent or guardian's room, using existing bedding.
