4.0− problem was the sound of drilling that meant no sleep and then a power cut which resulted in no air conditioning on a very hot night - both led to very very little sleep

This hotel is in dire need of a refresh.
6.0This hotel is in dire need of a refresh. The building is old, sure, but you can do A LOT with a soft refurb/refresh. Every room is dark and therefore feels extremely small and dated. I would not return to this hotel until a soft refurb is completed. The only redeeming factor was receptionist Jude. He was kind, knowledgeable and extremely patient. I arrived after a horrendous journey in the midst of a hen party on the Eurostar and had no patience left. Jude managed to shift my mood around by remaining calm and professional. He is excellent (and deserves a better product to work with)!
