Lovely hotel don’t bother with breakfast.

7.0

The property’s location is very good, an easy walk in to the city. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast. Breakfast was fairly basic but tasty and would have been good in a more welcoming environment. The room is small with lots of tables, when it was busy you felt quite hemmed in. The worst thing was the staff. Three women who didn’t talk standing at the top of the buffet. No greeting, no explanation of what was available and/or what to do. It was extremely uncomfortable. The first morning we got our food, ate quickly and left, it was not a relaxing or enjoyable situation. It felt like you were being monitored by guards of some kind. The second morning was even worse. As it was our last morning we came down a bit later. The restaurant was still half full although there was only ten minutes left until closing time. We came down in to visible anger at the time we had arrived. There was no orange juice left and we asked if we could have some to be told no there was none left. We got some toast, while being watched, and were asked if we wanted cheese or cold meats to get them now as they were being put away. We quickly got what we wanted and sat down. The staff then immediately started to clear everything away but with hostile attitudes. We ate our toast while they dragged a hoover in and a mop and bucket - the restaurant hadn’t even reached closing time at this point and there were still five tables with guests. The head woman then started hoovering around the room and our tables. When she’d finished she came to the table next to us and took another guests plate while she was still eating! At this point, having finished our toast, we decided to leave and I took my yogurt and a spoon to our room to sit and eat in peace. I have never experienced such hostility from staff. Their attitude was appalling. They were actively unhelpful and extremely rude.

The two Hotels together (Seymour and White House hotel)it is so confusing and no security.

1.0

When we arrived at White House Hotel in the morning, we could not find the reception because the hotel sign is on the main road, while the reception is located on the side of the building. As we were looking for it, an unknown man approached us and said he knew where the hotel was. We followed him, but he took us around the building instead of directly to the entrance. During this time, two police officers stopped us, checked our passports, and warned us that this man was a drug dealer who deceives tourists. As soon as the police approached, the man immediately disappeared. We are very grateful to the police for helping us. We informed the hotel staff about this incident, but they laughed and told us not to worry. We left our luggage and went sightseeing. When we returned later, we were given a ground floor room with a window that was easily accessible from outside. There was also no CCTV camera covering our window. After what had happened earlier that day, my mother and I felt very unsafe staying in such a room. We asked if it was possible to move us to a room on a higher floor, but we were told that the hotel was fully booked. Considering the frightening incident earlier that day, together with the lack of security for our room, we no longer felt safe staying at this property. We therefore decided to leave and book another hotel for the night.

Very clean, friendly staff, the location is perfect just a short walk to Paddington station.

The breakfast is not the best. No airconditioner during heatwave, but there was a fan.
