2.0Was shocked at how trashy things have become at the once very classy St. Regis. Tried to walk into the bar, which I've been going to for 30 years, and now there's a young security woman not letting people in and at the the end of the restaurant a rope and security guards telling people to lineup and wait. It now has all the elegance of the motor vehicle department.

10.0Great, 5 star luxury experience in NYC. Everything reserves 5 stars, I didn't sample any food here- so I can't comment about that, but sleep, bathroom service, all outstanding. I have had some outside communication with someone named Andy Pino- he does an amazing job as hotel or rooms manager. I had an issue last stay, and he personally reached out, we formed a relationship, and he has remained committed to working with me - truly above and beyond what I've ever seen elsewhere. The positives - that are truly the best in NYC or anywhere- is an extremely comfortable bed, a pitch black room, nice shower/bathroom amenities, and clean and well equipped room. In fact we were elevated to a suite, and what a huge difference it actually made Bed still remains the best anywhere, I've tried to replicate elements of it at home.. and that room gets very dark there. They did a big renovation- to me I might have liked the room before in a way- I like a darkening shade on the window- I only get it here or the Mandarin- but they got rid of room darkening shades- but still a top notch A+ night sleep. Everything top notch in the room I didn't detect any nickel and diming- they generally were very kind in that way. Took the house car once which was nice. the Butler did a terrific job- I loved this feature. Overall, what an amazing stay. This is my place in the city.

− I got a room with zero light and zero view. It felt so claustrophobic I had to leave after one night. Despite the opulence and the butler, I just could not take looking into a shaft.
