Not value for money here !
4.0We checked in here for 3 nights, our room wasnt ready, so left our luggage in the storage room, came back later on to check in after 3pm we got room # 414 a pretty much standard double room The room was rather small, but for 3 nights it was durable, there wasnt anything that surprised me at this particular hotel, the service was quite basic, and the first i got breakfast tickets for only 2 persons and yet we were 3, doesnt matter i got enough tickets. Breaksfast here was pretty basic, the supposedly hot food like Scrambled eggs, paties, bacon, sausages etc. was cold at 7.00 morning we came just when they opened. The bread is actually non existent, crossiant was dry and fabricated product, and not freshly baked. Japanese food, like miso soup, corn soup, and even serving beef curry in morning was a bit to Asian for us, no cheese here ! Coffee was not very good either, the room coffee was better in packages ! Everything here is absolutely a wrong set-up completely off the chart, employers standing and talking to eachother ! No privacy while eating breakfast here. I will not set my foot here again if i am in Tokyo for sure, the name Villa Fontaine doesnt live up to its reputation, if it does have one.
This was our first hotel on our first trip to Japan, and it set a strong tone for the rest of the journey.
10.0From a location standpoint, it’s highly practical, close to key shopping areas and well connected to the train network, which made navigating Tokyo straightforward. The hotel itself is well presented, and service throughout the stay was consistently professional and accommodating. Staff were responsive to requests and created a smooth overall experience. Rooms, however, are compact. For travellers moving through Japan with luggage, space becomes a real limitation. There isn’t much room to properly unpack or organise, which is worth factoring in for longer stays. What truly stood out was the level of care from the staff. When my wife lost her phone during the trip, one of the team members, Jinn (apologies if the name is slightly off), went above and beyond to assist. She coordinated with local authorities and made a genuine effort to help us recover it. That moment shifted our perspective, not just on the hotel, but on the broader standard of service in Japan. It reflected a level of ownership and guest care that goes beyond transactional hospitality. Key insight: This is a well-located, efficiently run hotel, but it’s the people that elevate the experience. Would I return? Yes, particularly for the service reliability and location. Best for: Travellers prioritising connectivity and dependable service Less ideal for: Those needing larger rooms or travelling with significant luggage
Would not return.
4.0We stayed here for four nights when in Tokyo, I think there are better value hotels ultimately sleep and showering are the most important and this hotel significantly lacked on both. We were in room 135 a twin room on the ground floor. 1) there was an incessant beeping that took place every 10-20 seconds between 7am and 11pm. Given it stops between these times the hotel are clearly aware - it drove me mad 2) the shower is ridiculous, the settings on it are akin to a hose pipe and completely rubbish. The holders for the shower are immovable and insufficient with showering a human. 3) one of the days a speakerphone which comes into the rooms told us they were investigating a fire and to await further instructions. The staff left this active so you could hear their movements and interactions, no update on next steps or to say it was safe ever came. 4) the restaurant attached to the hotel is barbarically priced for what it is both for meals and for breakfast. the location is good, it is quiet in the surrounding areas with good transport links.
Overpriced and Average
4.0Did not like our stay here. Service was well below par and rooms were very expensive and tiny. We don’t think we’ll be returning here anytime soon.
