An Exceptional Stay with Outstanding Service

My stay at Canal House was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the beautiful atmosphere, attention to detail, and outstanding level of service. Every member of staff I encountered was warm, welcoming, professional, and genuinely made me feel valued throughout my stay. My room was simply perfect, spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, peaceful, and incredibly comfortable. After an amazing performance at a festival weekend, it was exactly the relaxing retreat I needed. Everything exceeded my expectations, and the overall experience was truly overwhelming in the best possible way. There was just one small moment on arrival. As I came directly from the festival, I was dressed casually, and the porter asked if I had come to the right place. I imagine it was simply a misunderstanding based on my appearance rather than anything intentional. Once inside, however, the welcome and service were absolutely first class, and that brief moment was quickly forgotten. I would happily recommend Canal House to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in Amsterdam. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit so special, I look forward to returning.

− The only aspect of my stay that I didn't particularly like was a small incident on my first evening. After checking in earlier that day, I went out to explore the city. When I returned later that evening, I entered the hotel and instinctively headed straight upstairs towards my room. Suddenly, I heard a raised voice from behind me asking where I was going. I turned around to find a receptionist quickly approaching me. I calmly explained that I was returning to my room and provided my room number. I was initially quite surprised by the interaction, but I also understand why it happened. I was simply in my own world after a long day and didn't think to acknowledge reception as I came back in. I appreciate that the staff have a responsibility to ensure the safety and security of both guests and the hotel. Although the approach felt a little abrupt in the moment, it was a minor incident that did not detract from what was otherwise an outstanding stay with exceptional service throughout.
