Disappointing due to card payment fees, refusal to provide an invoice, and broken AC issue

Before booking, I read a number of negative reviews. In response to many of them, the hotel management stated that the property had come under new ownership and had been renovated. Unfortunately, during our stay in July 2026, we experienced many of the same issues mentioned in those earlier reviews. Despite our disappointing overall experience, there were a few positive aspects: - The location was excellent, within walking distance of the Blue Mosque and other major attractions. - The hotel itself was clean. - The hotel was conveniently located close to the HVIST-11 airport shuttle stop, making travel to and from Istanbul Airport straightforward.

− - The hotel charged an additional fee for paying by card. When we questioned this, we were told to withdraw cash from an ATM instead. We eventually agreed to pay the extra amount by card only after the hotel assured us that they would provide a formal invoice showing the actual amount charged. - After payment was made, we repeatedly requested the invoice but never received it. On our final day, a staff member informed us that the owner had refused to issue the invoice, despite the earlier assurance. - The air conditioning in one of our rooms was not working. We reported the issue to the receptionist, who said she would check it within five minutes. After waiting 45 minutes, she had left without any update. Another staff member eventually assisted us, and after about 30 minutes of discussion, we were allowed to move to a different room. We were left with the impression that the hotel was already aware the air conditioning was faulty. The following morning, the receptionist explained that her shift had ended, and also suggested that expecting a functioning air conditioner in July was somehow unreasonable, which was both surprising and disappointing. - Breakfast was served at a venue just outside and next to the hotel. Unfortunately, the tablecloth and cutlery were covered with cat hair and were only replaced after we requested it. In addition, breakfast consisted of a fixed set plate with no choice of items, which we personally did not enjoy. As a result, we chose not to have breakfast there on the following day.

We had a wonderful stay at Elisa Hotel Istanbul. We booked two rooms and both were clean, comfortable and well maintained. The air conditioning worked perfectly which made our stay even more enjoyable and the beds were very comfortable ensuring a good night sleep. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless throughout our visit. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and always happy to help with anything we needed. The hotel location is outstanding, just a 4 minute walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia making it the perfect base for exploring Istanbul’s historic attractions. We would highly recommend Elisa Hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul and would happily stay here again.

PersonalulWe had a very pleasant experience at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I would especially like to thank Safi, who was extremely attentive to all of my requests. Everything was exactly as we discussed and as he promised. He was always kind, quick to respond to my messages, and throughout our stay he was very attentive to all our needs. His professionalism and dedication truly made a difference and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely come back!
