Nice apartment but terrible communication and over charged us

− On check-in (23rd June), I was told the tourist tax had increased by 50%, to €627, with no prior notice. The original agreement made no mention that this tax was subject to change. Spain’s tourist tax increase came into effect on 1st April 2026 — the property had almost three months to inform me and simply didn’t, despite my having proactively asked for confirmation in January. I disputed the charge in person, but with nowhere else to stay that night, I had no real choice but to pay it. I’ve formally notified them that I’m disputing the charge and have kept evidence of my January request and the total lack of communication on their part before check-in. Very disappointing experience — a lack of transparency and basic communication that left me paying significantly more than agreed, under pressure, at the point of check-in.

Good and comportable to move because it is very near to metro station.

One thing that was great was the close location to Sagrada Familia and the hop on hop off buses
5.0The unit/apartment was located in an excellent location. Had a fairly new bathroom and kitchen. Balcony had a great view of the Sagrada Familia, especially at night.
− Floor tiles have seen better days. There was always an unpleasant smell that we were not sure where it was coming from (water drains or aircon). There were no pegs to hang our washing. We things to make on the stove and we couldn’t make it work, even after watching YouTube videos. Had to get rid of our one rubbish and there were no spare towels that could be found easily.
