Horrible hotel and misleading rating
1.0− The hotel listed on Booking.com was misleading and did not match the description provided in your app. It is not a 3-star hotel, as evidenced by the 1-star sign at the entrance. The place is dirty, with stains on the bed that caused itchiness all night. The water supply is unreliable, and at times there was no cold water. The shower hose is leaking, making it difficult to use with scorching hot water. The toilet seat is leaking, the utensils are dirty, the TV is non-functional, there is mold everywhere, and there is extremely loud noise from the street and bars downstairs, preventing us from sleeping. Noting that my old parents needed their rest more than anyone. After reading through the reviews, I realized that several people reported someone had submitted high ratings on their behalf—clearly fraudulent behavior. Despite this, Booking.com took no action and continued to allow the property to advertise on their platform. Additionally, I ended up paying twice for a 9-day stay in Istanbul for 4 people (since we had to move to a decent hotel) as the hotel refused to issue a refund. Booking.com’s only response was to offer a 30% reimbursement, all while keeping the commission they received from the hotel (This was the reason given by the hotel owner for refusing to reimburse me). This entire experience was deeply disappointing both with the hotel and with how Booking.com handled the situation. As a loyal customer, this has seriously shaken my trust in the app and its approach to handling complaints.
A total disappointment , uncomfortable, unclean, and not worth the price.
1.0− I recently stayed at this so-called "hotel" in Istanbul, and I honestly wish I hadn’t. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this place is very poorly managed. The staff were unfriendly and barely helpful, and communication was a nightmare. The room was nothing like the pictures – dirty floors, stained sheets, and a bathroom that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly in weeks. On top of that, the noise was unbearable. I could hear everything from the hallway and even conversations from other rooms. It was impossible to get a good night’s sleep. The location might be decent, but that’s the only good thing I can say. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Definitely not recommended – avoid if you want a comfortable and stress-free stay in Istanbul.
Good
7.0Great staff who were very friendly and accommodated for all needs. Hotel was clean but old. But facilities inside operated well. The hotel was right next to the Taksim high street and 8 mins walk to Galata. Very close to tourist locations. Restaurants and shops were all nearby. The hotel was next to a club which was noisy but once within the room, the noise was quite minimal. Hotel came included with breakfast, which was absolutely fantastic. A short 2-3 min walk from the hotel and was within a local family run cafe. The breakfast was a traditional Turkish style and was excellent! Would definitely recommend in terms of location, staff and breakfast!
Pleasant
6.0− The hotel looked better in the photos. We chose the hotel because of the kitchen, but we couldn't use it. It wasn't clean. There wasn't even paper until we asked for it. Breakfast was included in the hotel's service and we had to go to another building to get it.
Solid
7.0Very good location. Breakfast was solid. Staff is friendly. For that low price in the center, solid accommodation.
− Big noise from the disco every night until 3am, hard to fall asleep before that. Old building and hygiene is not very good, there are cockroaches. The photos on the website do not correspond to reality.
This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties.
