"Śniadanie" to sucharki w paczce i dżem

− pokój udostępniany gościom jest obok łazienki (bez drzwi), w której gospodyni prała i suszyła pościel z poprzedniego dnia, więc w pokoju było mocno czuć wilgoć. Pościel - ewidentnie prana wielokrotnie, ale bez spektakularnych wyników. Łóżka - widać że używane od bardzo dawna.

− Awful and dishonestly advertised. The location was it's only remotely redeeming quality, and even that wasn't as great as we expected. Wish we had gone elsewhere. What a waste of money. We had absolutely no privacy. Instead of a door to our room, we had a curtain separating us from the hosts place. Definitely not private, as advertised. There was also no ability to lock anything. Our curtain door blocked the shared hallway and bathroom. There was also no bathroom door. Standing in the shower, which also had no curtain or door, provided an unobstructed view of the hosts door. Somewhat to her credit, the host installed a lock on the outside, thinking that if we were using the shower we could lock her in her apartment, but she installed it incorrectly so it was useless and could not be locked. She insisted that leaving the light on would indicate to her that someone was using the bathroom so she wouldn't go in, but shebstill managed to walk in on me using the toilet. There was no space to put a toothbrush or soap. No counter space, and every inch of cupboard/drawer space was covered by her products. Her own storage was overflowing. Not one ledge to put a single belonging so we used her bathroom floor when we were in there. Disgusting. On top of that, everything stank of cat litter, with cat litter messes in the shared hallway. My husband is allergic to cats, and there is no ventilation, so he was extremely uncomfortable the entire time. No plugs near either bed. Two extension cords connected to each other to plug in the kettle and several signs indicating not to move or change the plugs. In our tiny room (probably 2x3 meters, certainly not what was  there was no space to put a suitcase down. Lots of things advertised as being included were absolutely not included. Breakfast. We paid for breakfast to be included and it consisted of previous guests leftover snacks. She told us we could buy bread around the corner.

Awkward space, insufficient security/privacy

Lovely location and comfortable room which did not get too hot. Having a mini fridge was really great and Marijke clearly thought about lots of little things we might like e.g. breakfast items, although we did not use these. Very clean. Communication around check-in was proactive and clear, and Marijke was friendly throughout.

− Unfortunately this property as it is currently set up is really just not suitable. There is no way to lock the bedroom door while you are inside sleeping (only via padlock when you leave the room), which is just unacceptable to be honest as far as basic expected levels of privacy and security. I understood the bathroom was shared - although this did cause issues with timing and we had to alter our getting ready for our conference to accommodate Marijke needing to use the bathroom, better communication around this is necessary - but the two door setup is awkward and the lock was not functional when the door on Marijke's side was closed, meaning I had to improvise and use my pyjama tie to tie it shut to prevent her being able to walk in to a direct view of us in the shower! Some shower gel and an additional towel provided would also have been great. The front door to the house is very loud to close, which would be disruptive to early sleepers as Marijke returned around midnight multiple times and the front door is directly next to one bed on the other side of the wall. I was also disturbed by the travelling of sound in the mornings and more generally as the door to the bathroom is floating chipboard and does not block anything out, and the sound of slippers scraping on the tiles, plus a lot of coughing, disturbed me quite a bit. I'm sure we also made unavoidably disturbing noises though we tried our best to tiptoe around at all times! I think we were really just not prepared for how much this would be like staying directly within the house of a stranger and having to trust them to respect your privacy because you don't have the means to protect it.

La chambre est bien placée, proche des commerces et des moyens de transports, dans un quartier calme.

− Pour a nuit, cela peut convenir. Pour 3 nuits il manque vraiment de l’espace pour nos affaires. Dans la salle bain aussi il manque une étagère vide pour poser nos affaires car c'est la salle de bain de l’hôte.

Perfecte locatie voor een bezoek aan Amsterdam. Rustig en dichtbij treinstation om op 10 min in het centrum van Amsterdam te staan.
