A good size terrace room, in a good location massively let down by cleanliness and ants.

The location of the property was really handy with it being close to the train station. The room was a good size. Good directions to get to the property, however you do need to follow them carefully as the property is a little tricky to find the first time and there aren’t any obvious signs to find the property.

− On our first night at the property we contacted staff to let them know we had around 20 ants continuously running along the skirting boards across two of the walls. They got back in touch quite quickly and asked for photos and videos for proof. The video we managed to get did not show the amount of ants that were in there properly as they were moving up and down the skirting boards continuously. They got back in touch with us again to say it was common to get ants, there was nothing that could do about it that night, and that we couldn’t move rooms. They advised they would send someone the next day to come and deal with the ants. No one came the entire 3 night trip and we had to just put up with the ants, which over time increased with numbers. We were extremely unimpressed because for the money, you do not expect ants in your room. I also checked under the bed, which was quite dusty and there appeared to be a sweet on the floor from previous guests, which would also not help matters. In the corner of the shower there was a fair bit of mold too. There was no view of the canal from our room but a good sized terrace. The room was very minimal with furniture. It is such a shame that the cleanliness let it down, the fact there was no staff around to speak to face to face let it down and the fact they did not resolve the issue with the ants after them saying they would let it down.

Small unit complex on the Grand Canal

We loved the location and looking out on the Grand Canal. The bed was comfortable and the shower great. The apartment complex came with a small communal kitchen and lounge area downstairs which were handy to have for breakfasts. Restaurants galore nearby and even a Despar supermarket.

− We found it a little difficult to find, perhaps a small sign on the gate would help others.

it’s all done electronically so you never see a staff member. the place was quiet and clean. nice view of the canal. big rooms that are comfy! good location that make it easy for an early morning getaway.

− no one on site in case of issue but we didn’t have any problems.
