The location.

− We booked this hotel based on the beautiful photos on Booking.com, and I can imagine the upstairs rooms are as nice as they appear. Unfortunately, we were assigned a ground-floor room, and our experience was completely different. When we walked in, the window shades were already pulled down, making the room feel dark, cramped, and claustrophobic. Once we opened them, we discovered the view was nothing but a brick wall. I called the property to ask if we could switch rooms, but nothing else was available. The staff member we spoke with showed very little empathy and simply said the photos were online and that we should have known what we were getting. The room was also extremely noisy. Because it faces an alleyway, sound echoes throughout the area, and we we could hear everything. Our neighbour spent much of the night and the following morning yelling at her family, making it nearly impossible to relax or sleep. The beds were another major disappointment. They were very uncomfortable from the start and felt like we were sleeping over a hole. On the third day, the bed slats actually broke. Thankfully, maintenance came and repaired the bed the same day, which we appreciated. Overall, this stay was a huge disappointment. We aren't a family with a lot of money, and we saved for this trip because we wanted to stay somewhere nicer while enjoying our summer holiday in London. We loved London, but unfortunately our stay at the York was very disappointing part of the experience.

Location was perfect!

− Apartment was small and bathroom not the best

Very nice place perfect location clean. But this is a one bedroom with a sofa bed and one bath. Knowing this would’ve be

The location is great. The apartment is very good. It was comfortable and clean. Would stay there again.

− Came to London for the first time assumed it was your general EU style adapter for power, I was wrong obviously. Learned the hard way. Phones died when we arrived at the apartment. No way to charge them. We arrived late at night after a 14 hour flight. We have to go buy an adapter or two for €10 each. The next morning. Also a couple bottles of water would’ve been nice touch. No A/C in the master bedroom. There was a heatwave and the fan was not cooling. The A/C unit is a portable unit. Also, needs to be mentioned I booked through Booking.com and I was under the assumption. I booked a two bedroom two bath apartment. If you go look, that’s what it reads under the description know where did it say this is a one bedroom until the confirmation came. Didn’t like that at all. Supposed that’s a Booking.com issue, but it needs to be fixed.
