− WiFi was a bit slow and spotty and AC was only in main room.

The neighborhood

− The property description was inaccurate, stating “air conditioned apartment” when in reality there was one ac in the living room on the ground floor leaving the bedrooms too hot to sleep. We were told to open windows and use fans even though there were no screens. The place itself was dirty. Grimy surfaces on desks, tables, television. The furniture and carpets were stained, no one wanted to walk around barefoot. We requested the cleaning service return once we discovered fecal matter in one bathroom toilet upon our arrival. Missing smoke detector. Exactly 4 towels, no hand towels or kitchen towels. In addition, during our stay we were contacted by the business below the apartment stating they were flooding due to plumbing issue in our unit and would need immediate access to our rental. This property needs to update description and adjust the price of rental. For the amount we paid, this was completely unacceptable. Dispute with booking.com came back as “unable to reach a resolution with accommodation” and offered an insulting booking.com credit that will never ever be used.

The apartment was clean, modern, and in a great location. The metro and bus stations were just a short walk away, and there were both Tesco and Sainsbury’s downstairs, which was very convenient. Despite being in a central area, it was quiet at night.

− The listing stated that the apartment had air conditioning, but the air conditioning was only available in the second-floor living room. The three bedrooms only had fans, and there was no air conditioning in any of them. During our stay there was a heatwave, and the bedrooms became extremely hot and uncomfortable. Each bedroom also had a heater with a cooling mode, but even after running it for several hours, the rooms remained very warm. The biggest issue was that we had to pay £230 for a locksmith during our stay. After checking out, I noticed several other reviews mentioning problems with the same lock. When we checked in, we were only instructed to enter the apartment using the passcode. We were never informed that there was a key left inside for the second door. The existence and importance of this key were not mentioned in either the check-in PDF or the host’s messages. When we realized we were locked out at around 9:00 p.m., we contacted the host politely and asked for help. We even offered practical solutions, such as sending an Uber to collect the key from him or paying for the cleaner to bring it to us. Unfortunately, every suggestion was rejected. The host was very unhelpful and showed little willingness to assist. We were simply told that our only option was to call a locksmith.

Location is excellent and well maintained and modern

− Fresh towels were not provided.. also we had an incident where the main lock broke and they did not replace it during our entire stay.. we had to keep a chair and heavy stuff to keep the main door closed..
