Changed apartment with no communication or regard of needs

Clean, nice touches such as water, coffee and chocolates on arrival.

− Apartment was changed on arrival with no communication. Response from host when we complained that it didnt meet our needs was if not happy leave and I will refund. This wasnt a viable option at 10pm with an 85 year old and no refund in hand to book a hotel. The alternative apartment had less facilities, a much smaller living space and was not accessible friendly. The original Apartment was booked as I have mobility difficulties and my father is 85 years old. We were put in a duplex that had a lethal staircase that was not suitable for my mobility challenges. At no point did the host ask why the apartment was not suitable, the choice was stay and put up with it or leave. There was no cooker (only a hob), no safe, 1 sofa not 2, no desk in the living area and on arrival no handtowels, 1 room had no duvet and no microwave. The host supplied these on day 2 after we requested handtowels and a duvet. We paid for a 3 bedroom accessible apartment. We got a duplex that had a dangerous staircase (directly over a bedroom door as shown in photo), no continuous handrail for safety so the only choice was to lean in to the wall for support and overall the apartment did not have the facilities we paid for and wanted (cooker, safe, large living area).
