Great location but beware of the stairs

The location is exceptional - 2 min walk from Bond Street tube and righr off Oxford Street in the heart of great shopping and restaurants. The apartment was nicely furnished and very clean and modern. There were fresh flowers which was a nice touch and ample supply of detergent, dish washer pods, toilet paper etc. There was also a portable ac unit which we weren't expecting and was super helpful during the heatwave that was on the entire time we were in london.

− The low score on this review is for two reasons, neither of which were mentioned in the properry description. The apartment is up 3 flights of steep and narrow stairs with two bedrooms on the 3rd floor, the living area and kitchen on the 4th floor and the largest bedroom on the 5th floor. There is no lift. We were travelling with my elderly mother and she really struggled with the stairs. There also wasn't 2 full bathrooms, but a bathroom and half bathroom, which again wasnt clear in the listing. With 4 adults it was crowded. If these aspects had been made clear we would have chosen a different property. This was a perfectly fine property, just not for our needs. Id advise the owner to update the description to be transparent about these aspects.

A mix of pluses & minuses

Its location was GREAT…& the recommendations given by the hosts for places to patronize were really helpful. Additionally, the host was very responsive whenever we had any questions.

− -the 60 steps up to the flat & continuing on into it (completely unexpected) -the dryer that didn’t even come close to drying clothes -the brown couch next to the kitchen: it was definitely not clean. -the fact that there were not 2 FULL bathrooms… the description of the property stated that there were two bathrooms, so we assumed that each bathroom would have a shower &/or bath. … but we discovered, much to our dismay, that one of the bathrooms was only a half bath with just a toilet and sink. This made shower coordination for the 4 of us somewhat challenging.

The location was fantastic - just a few minutes away from Bond Street tube station, Selfridges, and excellent restaurants and cafes around Marylebone. We love Bao! The apartment is clean and spacious, and the kitchen has all the amenities you would need if you preferred to eat in.

− It wasn't the owner's fault, but the guests staying at the flat right next to us were chain smoking and the smell at the entrance was awful. Again - not the owner's fault,

The location was ideal, really helped us with our tour on the city

− Even though the location was perfect, there were some not minor issues that I found inconvenient. Starting from the entrance the smell of the rug that runs throughout the staircase had a not pleasant smell. The apartment had no elevator and in addition to a narrow circular staircase, made the carrying of the luggage a demanding activity. The apartment was beautiful and cozy. However, the lack of two showers made it difficult. As for the heating, even though the host responded quickly when we asked for instructions about how it operates, I found the way it does, unreasonably complex leaving us to sometimes not being able to keep the house at the prefered temperature. As for the beds of the two smaller rooms, the one had tubes underneath the mattress, meaning that humidity was produced. As for the bed of the upper floor, seemed like it was on wooden boards that you could feel after some hours. Obviously this is not acceptable at the price range of this residence. In general, the issues mentioned above should be considered in addition to the cleaning, that wasn't on the highest level as well. My objections, in relation to the amount of the cost, come with the thought that the apartment shouldn't just rely on a great location, and try to elevate the level of the accommodation where possible
