The apartment has an excellent location with easy access to public transportation.

− The apartment looks fantastic in the photos, and it matches the pictures in real life. The host was very responsive, helpful, and friendly throughout our stay. However, there were several issues that significantly affected our experience. The apartment is on the 6th floor with no elevator, which may be difficult for some guests. The upstairs air conditioner also wasn’t cool enough. The location itself is excellent, but the area directly outside the building is very unpleasant. There appears to be a place nearby that may be operating as a brothel, and there were often groups of people hanging around outside. Every night during our stay, even with all the windows completely closed, it was still extremely noisy outside—even at 3 or 4 a.m. It was almost impossible to sleep because people were constantly talking loudly, shouting, and arguing. The same group seemed to be there almost every day, making the noise a constant problem. We slept on the downstairs bed, and every morning we woke up with painful insect bites on our skin. We don’t know what bit us, but it happened every night and made our stay very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the apartment was not as clean as we expected. The oven had not been cleaned before we arrived, and the chairs and seat cushions were also dirty. The kitchen and the bed were disappointing overall. In addition, the kitchen light was broken. The neighbors across the street had many visitors coming and going every day, creating even more noise. There was also a very strong and unpleasant smell coming from their apartment. We don’t know whether they were smoking or doing something else, but the odor was terrible. This wasn’t an isolated incident—it happened almost every day. As non-smokers, we found it extremely unpleasant. Overall, the apartment itself matched the photos and the host was excellent, but the surrounding environment, constant late-night noise, cleanliness issues, and maintenance problems had a major negative impact on our stay.

Great location, uncomfortable stay

The property is in a very good location, about 4-minute walk from Istiklal Street, and the terrace offers a nice view. The apartment looked exactly like in the pictures. Communication with the host was easy, and he responded very quickly to any question we had. The heating worked well.

− Unfortunately, the overall stay was not comfortable. The building where the apartment is located looked was in a very poor condition, it looked like a trash bin. To reach the apartment, we had to cross 5 floors where garbage was stored - absolutely disgusting! The apartment itself was not very clean, the bathroom had an unoleasant smell the majority of the time. Also, during the entire stay, there was a pregnant smell of cigarette smoke from the ventilation (imagine how terrible this is for a non-smoking person, nor to mention that all our clothes smelled like cigarette the entire time and I had to wash literally everything once I got home, also taking our clothes to dy cleaning) making difficult to breath, especially at night, when I woke up several times for not being able to breath properly. It also felt pretty unsafe at some point since the neighbor from across the corridor had a constant flow of customers and downstairs being an active brothel. The worst happened in our very last day: a terrible storm happened in Istanbul and there was a flood in the apartment, that fell exactly on one of our suitcases, which was almost ready (so we had to wash everything in the same day, praying to dry till we leave the second day, and resulting in deteriorating some of our clothes due to colors mixing). For us, it was about the 10th time in Istanbul, but this accommodation was by far one of the worst we have ever stayed in.

− 6. Etage ohne Aufzug, Mehrfamilienhaus, Badezimmer und Küche waren dreckig/klebrig, Stühle waren kaputt, Neue Haustür verursachte Probleme: Klingeln in der Nacht, weil alte Haustürcode nicht mehr funktionierte.
