Great location, a fairly comfortable bed, a comfortable shower with good water pressure, high ceilings.

− There was a very unpleasant smell coming from somewhere behind the fridge. It might have been a decomposing rat or its droppings. We reported this to the host straight away and asked to be moved to another room, but all the other accommodation options were fully booked, so we were advised to keep the window open and turn on the fan whenever possible, which didn’t really help. It was also very stuffy.

The absolute best is the location. Very convenient place very close to Padington station and next to Kengsinton Gardens. The info to pickup the keys and enter the building is sent several times to your email with a detailed step by step of how to collect the keys. And it is actually very easy to do it. The place was a comfortable studio with all the amenities to spend a few days there (shampoo, soap, towels and coffee and tea included).

− I was given the basement rooms, it smells strongly to humidity and to a place that stays closed for long. The street itself if very noisy and you listen all the time to people entering and going out of the building. Although a very good location , it is very touristy and not necessarily a nice experience with the people hanging out outside the building.

Firstly I have to say what a brilliant find this was on Booking. The apartment itself is described as small but there is plenty of room for what you need the accommodation for. Location brilliant 5 mins walk from Bayswater Underground station. The premises was spotless the only thing we noticed was an odd smell in corridor in basement but nothing inside the room itself. Coffee machine with tea coffee provided, hairdryer, tv, plenty of storage space. We only stayed one night as my wife had to get to UCL HOSPITAL. IN THIS PART IT IS DIFFICULT TO WRITE ANYTHING DETRIMENTAL ABOUT THE PREMISES.

− It has to be said we stayed our one night in the middle of July in the middle of the 2026 heatwave. To give the owners their due they did advise us it had no air conditioning and a fan was supplied, so following on from above had it have not been so hot we couldn’t have found fault with the premises at all. However it was in the basement in stifling heat and the only window opened out onto another flats patio so it wasn’t really possible to have the window open, the room was so hot it was actually unbearable. However as I said, it was in a heatwave, so if staying in normal times I can’t imagine it’s a problem. So all I would say is be mindful of the weather if you get allocated a basement flat, but the price did mirror this.

The apartment was quite nice, and we liked that the kitchen/living area was separate from the bathroom and bedroom. The bathroom was clean, and the kitchen was functional. The living room temperature was generally comfortable as long as the window was open. We also appreciated the good customer service when we accidentally broke a plate while washing up.

− The biggest downside was the bedroom on the second floor. It was unbearably hot, and we really struggled to sleep because of both the heat and the hard bed. The ventilation upstairs was very poor, making it much warmer and stuffier than the living area. The fan was okay, but we would have preferred one that oscillated, as it only blew towards one of us during the night. The kitchen could also have benefited from having more plates and cutlery, as we had to wash dishes very frequently. The fridge stayed at a very low cooling level and only kept drinks just below room temperature, and the temperature could not be adjusted. We also noticed that the bathroom lights flickered a lot, and the smoke alarm had tape covering it, which was a little concerning. We stayed on the top floor, and carrying luggage up the many steep stairs was difficult. It would be helpful if it was made much clearer to guests that there are many fairly steep stairs, especially for those staying on the upper floors.
