Amazing first time experience of Kyoto
10.0The hotel is in an amazing location, especially for Sakura viewing with the shrine/park just behind it and the viewing spots on the river only a short walk away. The hotel staff are friendly and very accommodating, helping me with locating specialised shops in the area and in giving me directions and advice on how to make the most of what was a short trip. The traditional Ryokan rooms are clean, very comfortable and in my opinion beautiful, although the private bathroom facilities are a little dated. The breakfast provided was again traditional and tasty but there is only a salad bar option for those of you who are used to/want a more continental/American style breakfast. The public Onsen at the hotel was an incredible first time experience, with the outdoor pool option (small) and views from the top floor. I would thoroughly recommend using the Inn as a base to return to for those who wish to use their time there to explore Kyoto and the surrounding area.

8.0A bit noisy at night for insomniacs, but made up for it with good service and amenities for those after the ryokan experience.

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare requires all international visitors to submit their passport number and nationality when registering at any lodging facility (inns, hotels, motels, etc. ). Additionally, lodging proprietors are required to photocopy passports for all registering guests and keep the photocopy on file.
