Cannot recommend this Ryokan enough. Amazing staff, incredible food, rich history and fantastic location. I will definit
10.0Loved the homely feel, close proximity to the train station, incredible traditional dinner and breakfast and hospitable staff. Had a lovely bath after dinner too which had been proactively organised ahead of our arrival. Amazing sleep on the futon beds in a large, cool and authentic Ryokan room
Was a lovely experience, DON'T GO ON A SUNDAY!
4.0The room and overall accommodation was amazing. Authentic, clean, and comfortable. I loved that you could utilize the private Onsen, includes an authentic Japanese breakfast, and tea upon check-in.
− The main reason we booked this Inn was because we heard about the Omakase experience. The private chef that would go to the fish market and prepare a dining experience for the guests each night. A very unique and intimate dining experience. We checked into the Inn on Sunday. We were excited to relax in the Onsen and have an amazing dinner to follow. EXCEPT, we were informed after we checked in that they only have one chef, and he has off every Sunday. Which is fine, everyone deserves a day off. Minus the fact that we just paid over $400 for one night. Oh and also you get one hour in the Onsen. The staff members were very kind, and I believe this may have been a communication error, but in my mind, without dinner, it was not worth $400. The dining experience is posted all over their social media, making it seem like the main highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, we were unable to have that experience. Also, you are given a "free drink" IF you post about their establishment on your social media. I'm sorry but I feel that's extremely unprofessional. Again, we paid $400. I should just get a free drink included with my stay. I shouldn't have to post about my stay in order to get the drink. Lastly, we had to sleep with eye masks on because there was a light shining directly into our room. So if you stay here, don't go on a Sunday AND bring your eye masks!

10.0I loved the traditional aspect of the stay. The staff were excellent especially the owner. The staff speak English. It was a stay that you wouldn’t experience often and is a must do.
− Despite the traditional nature of the room, the pillows and bed weren’t the comfiest, but were ok.
