I absolutely love everything about this place. The location is convenient but not in the central area that's too busy and noisy. I get a taste of how locals live their life. The apartment's layout is superb and beautifully classy. It's well maintained and clean. I like to walk so l used my legs to venture in the city a lot. But water bus station is right below outside the apartment. For €18, you can take Alilaguna that's downstairs to Marco Polo airport, so no need to lug your suitcases around. The host is super nice and helpful. I will definite get this place again on my next visit to Venice!!!!

Beautiful disappointment

We truly couldn't wait to stay at this apartment. Beautiful photos and good reviews kept our expectations really high. Sadly, our stay there turned out to be quite a disappointment. The good things: the flat is spacious and beautifully furnished. The light in the living room is to die for. The view, when there is no renovation downstairs, must be breathtaking as well. The place has amazing potential.

− The biggest issue regards cleanliness. After check-in we received information that there is no cleaning service at the apartment. We went on to inspect some of the basics. Towels turned out to be stained and damaged, cutlery, plates and glasses in the kitchen were dirty and sticky, but the biggest nightmare was the bedroom. Single long, thick black hairs welcomed us when we took a closer look at the bedding. The state of the duvet was absolutely not acceptable: yellow on the corners, and the middle was stained with god knows what. We found two spare duvets in the wardrobe, only to discover these were even worse than the original one. The bathroom was also rather tragic: dirty toilet, a broken shelf above the sink, zero storage space. The shower cabin looked very suspicious with black stains on the (stone? marble?) floor and the shower hose looked like it had been living in the place since the building was built: rotten, blue and black. We contacted the host about the bedding, only to receive a rather arrogant response: Not my fault, the cleaning team's fault, the laundry's fault etc. No "I am sorry". No cosmetics- only the cheapest hand soap, nothing to take a shower . The duvet was replaced by a maid the next day in the early afternoon, after quite a chat on the phone and Booking's intervention (thank you, Booking!), but later we noticed the replacement duvet we got was a down one. We specified before checking in that we needed a hypoallergenic one. We let it go, however. We had no energy to keep fighting.
