The location - That is about it

− *I contacted the host several times the week prior to arriving, both through the booking app and the email address that was given when booked. There was never a response until I finally called the day before I arrived. Mind you, they didn't actually answer, but apparently seeing the call come through encouraged the host to answer me digitally. To get into the apartment, I was told to message them, and I would be buzzed in. I then needed to go upstairs, and I had a code to open a lock box to access the key. Upon arrival, the message was sent with no response for 5+ minutes; I called, and magically, I was buzzed in. *The apartment did not have AC; no big deal, I know it's Europe - BUT who knows when the windows had last been open, so the place was hot and stuffy. The first night there was a storm, so windows had to be closed - super hot, and the shutters on the side of the apartment banged the whole night because they were broken. I know repairs in Venice can be tricky, but there is no reason not to have functional shutters if the windows have to be used. Plus, with the windows up, the rest stayed, and bugs became an issue. I got covered in bites *Upon arrival, the host told me they would stop by to collect the tourist tax and to reach out if I had questions or needed advice. I messaged to ask about a gondola rental and the best way to return to the airport - they NEVER responded the rest of the trip. They also never showed up to collect the money - ok, fine - but they never even said the total amount or where to leave it in the apartment. So on check-out day we just left. *Within a few hours of leaving, the host magically got better at communicating and wanted the tourist tax money. They said the original booking email said to just leave it; mind you, that email was sent in September, and this stay happened in June, plus the communication when we arrived said they would stop by. Either way, I was able to send the money digitally so they got paid.

Die Lage ist super, aber ansonsten kann ich wenig empfehlen.

− Einiges in der Wohnung ist (halb)kaputt, -Das Sofa wird mit Büchern gestützt, der Stoffvorhang vom Bett im Wohnzimmer "balanciert" auf zwei Haltern, fällt schnell herunter. -Der Wasserdruck ist schlecht - das Wasser entweder kalt oder sehr heiß, beim Duschen ist das unangenehm (ja, es gibt Overtourism in Venedig, aber wir sind öfter in der Stadt und erlebten das erstmals in der Dimension,) -Die Betten sind durchgelegen. Fensterläden im oberen Bad und Zimmer lassen sich nicht gut schließen. -Es gibt keinen Mückenschutz an den Fenstern, die Plage groß. -Die Wände sind unrein, fleckig, eine überhaupt nur mit einem Tuch bedeckt. -Drei von vier von uns sind mit Ausschlag aufgewacht - unklar von welchen Insekten. -Der Code der Schlüsselbox dürfte nicht wechseln. Nach uns sind andere Personen mit der gleichen Nummer rein - das ergibt Sicherheitsbedenken: Wie viele (ehem.) Gäste haben den mittlerweile? -Der Vermieter war kaum bzw. nur schwer verzögert erreichbar - wir wissen bis heute nicht, wie sich der Herd in Betrieb nehmen lässt. Er hat die Kommunikation schnell auf Whatsapp verlegt / verlegen wollen, unsere Reisepässe / IDs so bekommen - obwohl Booking.com davor warnt.

A historic apartment in the old town. Great location. Just 2 minutes from the waterbus and the Academy Bridge. Spacious with old furniture. Without air conditioning, it's stuffy, especially on the top floor. I had to sleep with the windows open and the fan on. Bring mosquito repellent, otherwise you'll get bitten. Overall, it's a good stay for a few nights.

− The mattresses are old and uncomfortable.

Great location. An easy walk to the action yet located in a quiet area for rest. Plenty of space with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
