Brilliant location in the heart of Venice

Location- insanely perfect. Easy access to everything. Beds and pillows- very comfortable. In spite of the location- it was quiet and easily able to sleep View- amazing. You do need to stand on the balcony (which is beautiful and rare to have) however it is boarded up to waist height- which is probably for safety reasons- so you cant see though the railings to the canal and need to stand up to get the view of the canal and bridge. Sitting or views from the lounge room are of rooftops. So stunning! The apartment is old school Venetian style and the owners have done a beautiful job keeping that elegance, yet having it as a 'modern' apartment with kitchen facilities and open plan living. As well as bathrooms are modern, great bath. The water pressure was better than expected. Not 'strong' however decent. How light it was and the sunlight that came in all the rooms (except the main bedroom) after the shutters were opened. Air conditioning! Yay! Privacy (so rare in Venice!) You can keep the shutters open as no one looks in on your apartment The owners were responsive with our concerns and feedback and gave instructions through whats ap. Being close to a great coffee shop downstairs El Doge (been a favourite for many years) You felt like you were in Venice.

− The stairs. Unavoidable in Venice. Be aware and prepared. There are 5 flights of narrow and old stairs to carry your luggage as well as go up and down each time you leave the apartment. Worth it? Yes. For the reasons above. Granted we were in Venice at height of Summer 35 degrees outside and over 40 degrees inside the property when we arrived. It took a very long time for the property to cool down though once air con kicked in, it was comfortable. It just took a long time after we arrived.

Absolutely incredible view right in the center of everything. Furnishing were nice with an easy and supportive host.

− The stairs are real but this is Venice, elevators are rare and unrealistic in real apartments like these. Just be prepared to hike them.

It was excellent. Gaia was super responsive. Excellent recommendations. So helpful With an issue with construction outside and always willing and able to answer any questions. The place is gorgeously designed and well equipped. Like A lil Italian oasis!

− Really nothing! Things beyond owners control like the stairs and water pressure but all was expected and part of the trade off of getting to stay in such a nice place!
