Hyde Park Great for Families 2beds & 2baths flat Fantastic location!

Great location, but a bit rundown.

The location of the property is great. It is in a quiet neighborhood, just a couple blocks from restaurants, pubs, shops, and markets. It is also a short walk from multiple tube stations, making it easy to get to other parts of London. The host/concierge was also very helpful and courteous. When we ran out of washing detergent, he dropped off some additional pods. The layout of the flat was great for our family. It has 2 bedrooms and an additional bed in the living room. Everyone in our family of 4 had a quiet place to sleep at night.

− Our check in didn't go great. We arrived at the building in the time window on booking.com (3-6pm), but when we arrived, the outside door was locked and there was no one at the front desk. We called the number on the door and messaged via booking.com with no response. After 15 minutes or so of sitting outside, a resident let us in the building. After another 10 minutes or so, we stopped another resident to tell her our situation. She was able to track down the host/concierge and get us our keys to the flat. Another family who arrived at about the same time as us had a similar issue. For the rest of our stay the host/concierge was very responsive. We later found out that the host/concierge only staffs the front desk until 3pm. The flat and building is fairly dated and rundown. The lobby and elevator smell quite musty. The flat itself was mostly clean, but rundown and poorly equipped. For example there were limited plates and bowls in the kitchen and few cooking utensils. Some of the blinds were in disrepair. The mattresses were very uncomfortable (we could feel the springs through our mattress).

− Old flat, very dirty, if it is old and clean it is acceptable. I will not go back to that flat again.

Great location and perfect for a family of 4

It was absolutely a fantastic location. Close to 2 tube stations, bus stop, restaurants, grocery stores and right next to Hyde Park and Kensington Garden. We easily picked up and left the key at a hotel reception a couple of houses away. It was a fairly large apartment with 2 bedrooms that had a double bed in each. A decent sized kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove/oven, toaster, coffee maker, kettle and anything else you need. No dish washer though. A big living room, but we didn't use it. We didn't spend much time in the apartment other than sleeping and eating breakfast. Great place for 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 13). Fast and nice communication with the host when we asking about the wifi. There were 2 bathrooms with a shower and a bath in each which was good. It was warm days when we where there so we hade to keep the windows open all night. Since it was a quiet area that was no problem.

− The apartment felt generally worn out. There were 2 TVs but only one of them worked as the batteries in one of the remotes were old and had leaked. One of the beds had a broken board under the mattress and although there were wardrobes with hangers in each bedroom they were full of bags with duvets, pillows and other things. One of the bed side lamps didn't work. This didn't bother us as we mostly just slept and ate breakfast in the apartment.
