Fabulous Stay and Incredible Location

his apartment was fantastic. It overlooks the Piazza Signoria and the views are just fabulous. There was a concert one night and I was able to listen and watch from the window after cooking a late dinner for myself. There is the holy grail - washing machine in the apartment, a good bathroom, decent bedroom and the lounge/dining area is great. The kitchenette is small but serviceable. There is a working lift, but the stairs are manageable (without luggage). Location, location, location.

The lady that greeted us was very helpful and waited for us when our train was late. The views from the room and the position of the apartment were excellent. There were plenty of kitchen equipment available and we loved the fact that the property had a lift, seeing that the accommodation was on the fourth floor. The local water company cut off the water for a day and our hosts came over and provided bottled water. We were unable to have showers, so had to just wash with water that we had heated in saucepans on the stove. We totally understand that the hosts were not responsible for this, however they did offer compensation, which has not been received.

− The shower had two heads, what should have been a rainfall shower was broken and unusable, the hand held head was working at very low pressure but had no wall mount so we could only shower by physically holding the head. The kitchen really needs a deep clean and peeling door fronts replacing. There was very little space so food prep had to be done on the dining room table. The bed was very uncomfortable with a large dip in the middle. The curtains let in too much light because the are unlined.

The location is fantastic. Close to museums, food, transportation, etc. This location has an elevator.

The location can’t be beat. You are right in the middle of all the action. Very easy to go around Florence. Gianna is an amazing host. She gave great local recommendations and checked in on us frequently. There’s an elevator that is a big plus.

− Some minor suggestions to make our stay even better. A shower caddy would be nice- there’s no place to keep soap/shampoo except on the bathroom floor. The main shower head is not working. The hand held works just fine though. It would be nice to have a mirror in the room but not a deal breaker.

It seems impossible to find a better option in Florence. The view over Piazza della Signoria is stunning, the apartment is spacious, and the elevator works well, taking you up to the fourth floor. Communication with the owners is excellent — they respond instantly on WhatsApp and explain the best way to reach the apartment. The apartment is ready and warmly prepared for your arrival; inside there is tea, coffee, a very comfortable bed, high-quality linens, a small cooktop if you feel like cooking something, and a microwave. But most importantly, it makes you feel at home right in the very center of Florence.
