Disappointing stay due to poor maintenance, hygiene issues, and misleading listing

The location in Barcelona was convenient, the apartment itself fell well below acceptable standards for cleanliness, comfort, and maintenance.

− The listing photos appear to be quite outdated and do not reflect the current condition of the property. On arrival, the apartment felt significantly more worn and poorly maintained than expected. Several items were in a near-broken state, giving an overall impression of neglect rather than active upkeep. The kitchen equipment was also inconsistent and not well thought out. The glasses and cutlery looked like a mix from different sets, which made the kitchen feel improvised rather than properly equipped. For a group of four, there were not enough large mugs available, which was inconvenient for basic daily use like coffee or tea. The living area was another disappointment. The sofa is only really suitable for two people and is not comfortable for extended sitting or relaxing in the evening. This is misleading if the apartment is advertised for more guests, as it does not realistically support group comfort. Access to the apartment is via a smart lock system, which in itself is fine, but there is no option to manually lock the door from the inside. This felt unsafe and inconvenient, especially at night, as it removes a basic level of control over privacy and security while inside the property. The building entrance had a strong unpleasant smell of urine, which immediately created a negative first impression before even entering the apartment. The most serious issue was in the bathroom, where there was visible black mold. This is not just a cosmetic problem but a clear hygiene concern that should be addressed urgently.

Appartement donnant sur une grande cour intérieure, exposition sud-est, donc bien ensoleillé et au calme de la circulation. Le quartier offre toutes les commodités (métro, commerces, restaurants).

− L'appartement se situe dans une copropriété ; l'insonorisation avec les voisins laisse à désirer (bruits de pas, conversation).

Lokalita dobrá, blízko metra i procházkou k Sagrada F.

− Bohužel, dům celkově byl hlučný, vše bylo hodně slyšet z okolních bytů. Ale důvodem byla konstrukce domu, středem bytu procházel světlík a vedl hluk ze všech bytů.

Everything was good except the workmen on the balcony. But actually there is no balcony as there is a building obstructing any view from the properly. I think it would be good to show pictures that help a guest understand that they are paying for an internal space with no view. Everything was good inside and very comfortable and the location is great. If you are not going to spend time relaxing at home much - this is a good home base to move from. Also good resturants and shops very close by.
