Absolutely amazing stay and I recommend this ryokan to literally everyone.
10.0What was there not to like? I was looking for their recommendations on where to propose to my fiancé and they simply told me to do it there and upgraded our room to the top floor with a view of the Yasaka Pagoda. They even included a bottle of champagne to celebrate. Any question we had, they had an answer. Giving private access to the bath, the private breakfast, all of it was superb. If you ever want to go off the beaten path and find more local eateries, just speak with the staff and they will lead you in the best direction.

10.0A good affordable ryokan experience right in the center of Higashiyama! I was able to walk to Kiyomizu-dera and the rest of the town early in the morning to beat the crowds. The breakfast was also great! Staff were extremely helpful and allowed me to leave my luggage after check out. They also helped carry my heavy luggage to two floors up because there is no elevator. Private onsen experience is also great and no issues with reserving my preferred time. There is only a toilet and sink in my own room.
− Water in the sink in the room doesn't get hot quickly.
