8.0My favorite part about this ryokan is that you can visit many landmarks by walking, one of which is Kiyomizu-dera. The ryokan is located within a picturesque part of Kyoto. It's a 20 minute walk from the nearest train and 5 minutes from a bus stop. The staff were nice and understood English. You can request dietary needs for your included traditional breakfast. The breakfast is served at their restaurant and you can choose a time between 7 am and 8:30 am. I didn't realize when reserving our stay that there is no shower in the room, instead there is a shared onsen. You can request a private time slot if you prefer. Overall, the ryokan was a great choice for our historic Kyoto experience.
Amazing staff and great ryokan experience
10.0We stayed for 5 days and the thing that really made our stay were the staff! So lovely, always looking after us and very patient with our kids. We loved the ryokan experience and using the onsen every evening. The location is also great for visiting the town. Thanks again for all the tips, the warm welcome and for looking after us so well.
Good to know
The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare requires all international visitors to submit their passport number and nationality when registering at any lodging facility (inns, hotels, motels, etc. ). Additionally, lodging proprietors are required to photocopy passports for all registering guests and keep the photocopy on file.
Please note that some properties do not permit guests with tattoos to use the onsite public bathing facilities.
