Extremely disappointing – Zero empathy during a crisis
2.0Extremely disappointing – Zero empathy during a crisis "I had a reservation at Salvadonica that I was forced to cancel due to the current war in Israel and massive flight cancellations. Despite being a situation of clear Force Majeure, the hotel management was completely inflexible and refused any request for a refund or a future credit voucher, even after offering to help them re-sell the room. It is deeply disheartening to encounter such a lack of compassion from a business during a humanitarian crisis. While I understand policies, I believe extraordinary circumstances call for basic human decency and flexibility—which this hotel clearly lacks. I strongly advise fellow travelers to be cautious when booking here, as management prioritizes keeping your money over providing fair service under unavoidable, life-altering circumstances."
Lovely views, but very remote
6.0The location of Salvadonica is so picturesque! We enjoyed the views, the pool, the restaurant, the wine and olive oil tasting and the cooking class and painting class available. You could walk the vineyards and watch a movie under the stars. Luckily, these kept us busy for a while. We didn't realize without a car, we could go nowhere! A taxi would have to come from Florence, so the cost would be prohibitive. I wish we had been informed of this, but I take responsibility since I could have done more research. The rooms were quite adequate and clean, though my room s (#20) bathroom seemed to have a venting problem because the sewer gasses were pretty awful. They had a scented oil in there but that didn't help. I liked the rooms location, so I didn't say anything until check out. They acted surprised which was funny because I've read this in other reviews. I believe only this room was affected. The staff were efficient, but not overly friendly. The chef who gave us our cooking lesson was lovely, though. If you stay here, have a car!! If you have a day off rain, you stay in your room and read a book if you don't

10.0Stunning property, helpful & friendly staff, delicious breakfast. Wine tasting onsite was fun and informative. Would definitely return to this property. Make sure to book dinners, cooking classes and wine tasting head of time. Must have a car for this area, try GDS they delivered us the car right to the property, great service!!
